Noisy Neighbour

We recently had an enquiry from a local lady, who was experiencing a lot of noise from her neighbours front room via the television, music system and general loud speech.

We suggested that her two alcove walls should be professionally soundproofed as these were the main areas where the noise was travelling into her front room. We quoted for supply and fitting the job and here follows what we did;-

We firstly added NoiseKiller AbsorbnBlock material to the wall by simply peeling the self adhesive backing layer off. Then we added dot and dab pads through the material into the existing wall behind.

The dot and dab pads create a vital air gap between the new NoiseKiller AbsorbnBlock material and the new Acoustic Plasterboard wall. This air gap is very important as it allows the acoustic foam within the material to absorb all airborne sounds.

Adhesive was filled within the grid like part of the pads and then the new Acoustic Plasterboard (not just standard board!) was added. The new Acoustic Plasterboard was then levelled before it set and was then all joints skimmed ready for decorating.
